If you’d like to transfer a domain name from one domain name registrar to another, you’ll have to go through a couple of security procedures. One of them is getting a unique EPP authentication code from the present registrar company – on the condition that you are the domain registrant, since the code is emailed to the owner's email account and no one else can get it. You will have to give this code to the new domain name registrar, otherwise they won’t be able to begin the transfer. The EPP authentication codes are case-sensitive and may comprise of digits or special characters such as commas or dots, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy/paste the correct code. As an extra protection measure, the transfer code for a domain name may be changed on a regular basis. Some domain name registrars refer to this code as an Auth key, a domain password or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Website Hosting

You can obtain the EPP transfer authorization code for any domain name that you have registered through our company with only a few clicks from the exact same Hepsia Control Panel that you will use to manage your shared website hosting account. Once you visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all your domain names neatly displayed in alphabetical order. If some extension supports transfers between registrars with an EPP transfer code, you’ll see an EPP button to the right of the respective domain. If you click that button, the code will be emailed to the email associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain. If you wish, you can update the contact details, including the email, without the need to leave this section of the Control Panel, in case the currently entered email isn’t valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you register a domain under a semi-dedicated server account with us, you’ll be able to obtain its EPP transfer code with just one click of the mouse, in case you decide to move it to another company. All it takes to achieve that is to sign in to your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, to go to the Registered Domains section and to click the EPP button, which will be on the right-hand side of the domain name. Of course, such a button will be there only if the given TLD extension supports transfers with an EPP transfer code. Within sixty seconds, an email message that includes the code will be sent to the domain name registrant’s email address associated with that domain. You can update the latter via the exact same Control Panel section – if the one that is presently listed in the WHOIS archives isn’t a valid one. Since the change will propagate without any delay, you can request the EPP transfer code directly after that.
